Why did you choose to join AOE?
"I was struggling with Imposter syndrome in my projects and internships and I wanted a community of girls in STEM who could understand!"

"I choose to join A.O.E. because I wanted a group of supportive women who I could relate to. Starting my freshman year, I was involved in the WIE department and I noticed that so many of my role models were involved in A.O.E. I wanted a close group of women engineers that I could rely on throughout my college career, both academically, professionally and socially."

What has been your favorite part of being in AOE at UMD?
"I get to see a smiling face almost wherever I go on campus! A.O.E. gave me a community of such supportive girls who understand all the stresses of engineering and college. No matter what, I know there is someone I can reach out to!"

What is one of your best memories from an AOE event or with other AOE sisters?
"One of my favorite memories was the day I found out my big sis. We are so similar, it was refreshing to know I would always have that special relationship."

In your opinion, which AOE event is the most fun? Why?
"I love game nights because it’s just a very chill environment where sisters can hang out and relive any stress they had throughout the week. The lively atmosphere really uplifts my mood and allows me to truly appreciate the community I’m apart of."

What is something you have learned from or how have you benefitted as a person, student, and professional from being a sister in AOE?
"Through A.O.E. I’ve learned about the value of a professional network! I’ve had to opportunities to form connections with people in my field and I’ve gotten a lot of tips on how to get internships!"
